Finally making some Twitter money!

by Daniel on July 25, 2009

It’s happened again. I just cannot stay away from Twitter. Decided to swallow my pride and opened a new account. Actually, opened quite a few new accounts because I am definitely not going to put all my eggs in one basket again. The Twitter crowd is just far too temperamental and they might just get another bee in their bonnets and delete a few more accounts.

You probably all know by now what happened to my previous one. Got it deleted by Twitter without any cause or reason after I have put months of hard work into it.

Well Twitter, I now own 10 accounts all with a 1000+ followers!

I must confess. Having had my account suspended I was forced to do a lot more thinking and have put a lot more thought into my Twitter approach. I have now got my one main social account for keeping up to date with friends. The other 9 I use purely for social media marketing. This time around it’s a far bigger success and I am actually seeing a constant income stream from something I have always considered to be a bit of a toy.

Keep an eye on my blog, because I will post a lot more updates in the future how I managed to generate an income stream.

Unfortunately if you are going to use Twitter as a standalone, there’s no one big magic formula. It’s a matter of creating multiple smaller income streams that all work together.

The easiest method is simply by joining a  network like, RevTwt

How does RevTwt work? Its basically a matter of posting Cost per Click adverts in your daily timeline. You can choose the adds you want posted and it can all be automated to post at certain intervals during the day. For every valid click you get from a follower you will ear a certain fee.

Its all very straight forward and the more followers you have the more clicks you will get. Now imagine owning 10 accounts with a thousand followers each. If you post a different add on each account and each account Retweets the other accounts you cover 100,000 followers.

I normally find that out of every 100 followers 1 get 1 click. If 1 click = 10 cents, 100 click (1000 followers) = $1. 100,000 = $100/day. I normally repeat this process twice a day. Isn’t that a very nice income for roughly 20 minutes worth of work?

Best of all. You don’t just have to trust your income on little CPC adds. You can also use their URL shortening service. When you post an interesting URL it will briefly redirect via a partner site and you get paid for it…clever!

The big Twitter suspend!

by Daniel on July 10, 2009

Well folks, it’s finally happened. I came merrily skipping along this afternoon, opened up my laptop end decided to engage with a few of my Twitter friends. I find Friday afternoon always a good time to do that.

Almost fell off my chair when I spotted a big red box splattered over my profile saying, “Account Suspended!”

Suddenly I felt very sordid. Did I commit a criminal offence? Maybe I am being watched by the authorities? Did I by chance happen to stumble on an illegal pornography site and are slowly being shut down by the powers that be? I must have done something wrong and are immediately racked with guilt! What would my wife say. What would my friends and followers think? I am EEEEVVVILLLLL!! …or should I say, that’s what Twitter thinks!

What a load of b@llocks! I have spent months building up Twitter followers and friends. Met some fantastic people and forged great relationships. I can even go as far as to say, “I have poured my heart and soul into Twitter” My Twitter friends have gone with me through career changes, the recession, sickness, children problems, new ventures and many other drama’s, only to come to an abrupt end. Some or other jumped up little IT bloke (bot) in the Twitter offices decided he does not like my profile anymore.

Decided I am not going to take it lying down and wrote an E-Mail to their help desk. Needless to say, I have had more luck finding WMD’s in Iraq than trying to get a reason out of the Twitter crowd.

Their only reply is, “you have violated our terms of service”, meaning they do not know and do not care!!

Well, stuff you Twitter! If you want to act like an all powerful dictatorship, you can do so without me. I will rather go and spend my time and money with a service where it will be appreciated. Yes, I do mean money, because although Twitter claim to not make money, they do. They utilise various services that pay them certain fees and they get very upset when you do not make use of those services. So upset, that they will even go as far as to suspend your account and use the space/bandwidth for some other poor dummy. Talk about sore losers!

Well friends, now that I have got that off my chest, RIP Twitter, you are obviously not long for this world…you schmuck!

Update: 18/7/2009

Well folks, it does not look like I am going to get my Twitter account back. I have opened support Tickets, I have mailed, I have phoned, I have begged and I have threatened, I have petitioned and yet..nada!  Not a word from the Twitter crowd. I might as well not exist because so far a flat ignore. They have even deleted my support tickets! Think its back to Facebook to me. At least they have got the decency to admit you are human.

Twitter marketing. The good, the bad and the ugly.

June 11, 2009

I first saw Twitter about 18 months ago and could not believe that people can subscribe to a social media service to broadcast their thoughts across the world 24 hours of the day. I just seemed totally ridiculous to try and tell somebody in 140 letters how you feel, what mood you are in or [...]

How do you identify your market?

June 4, 2009

Identifying a market should be a straight forward process for most affiliates. See what’s selling! Use an existing marketplace like Clickbank and see what their top selling products are. Clickbank quite clearly compare their products in the same category, against each other and you can easily identify the top performers.
Once you have identified your potential [...]

More Twitter followers, what not to do.

Today, I had a revelation. It was one of those light bulb moments where I just had to sit up and say out loud,”gotcha”! Of course my wife did not quite share in my light bulb moment considering it was 3:30 in the morning and the whole house was sleeping.
I finally figured out how to [...]

Getting your new website up and running.

May 28, 2009

Installing Wordpress is actually very simple and straight forward, but for somebody fairly computer illiterate it can be a daunting experience. Just so much jargon! Does nobody out there speak plain English anymore?
I assume by now you would have downloaded the Wordpress ZIP file right? If not, do it………………………(http://wordpress.org/download/    feel free to use this link) [...]

In my previous post I mentioned that the 1st ingredient for a successful marketing campaign is to have a good product. Have you ever had one of those customer service calls where you find yourself saying things you don’t believe?
This is so priceless….and so easy to see happening, given the state of customer service these days….
